Apple releases iOS 12.3.2 with a fix for Portrait mode in iPhone 8 Plus

Apple releases iOS 12.3.2 with a fix for Portrait mode in iPhone 8 Plus

Apple today has released another minor update to iOS 12, this time focusing on fixing an issue tied to Portrait mode in the iPhone 8 Plus.

On Monday, Apple officially released iOS 12.3.2 (Build 16F250) to the public. As the version number suggests, this is a minor update that’s meant to patch up bugs and improve the overall software performance. In this case, Apple is aiming to fix a bug related to Portrait mode in the iPhone 8 Plus.

As is par for the course, iOS 12.3.2 is available as an over-the-air (OTA) software update on supported devices (in this case, the iPhone 8 Plus). If you already have automatic updates switched on, then iOS 12.3.2 will download and install in the background when your device is plugged in and charging. However, if you want to download and install the software now, simply open Settings –> General –> Software Update and follow the onscreen instructions.

Apple’s release notes for iOS 12.3.2 say the new software is meant to fix an issue that could cause the iPhone 8 Plus to capture a photo without any depth effect while using Portrait mode. That’s the only bullet point for the new software, but it’s also possible that Apple is aiming to fix other minor issues related to iOS behind-the-scenes.

Apple released iOS 12.3 to the masses back in early May, which included the new, redesigned Apple TV app. Then, on May 24, Apple released the first minor update for the software with iOS 12.3.1. That software update fixed issues related to voice over LTE (VoLTE) and Messages.

iOS 12.3.2 is a free software update for Apple’s mobile operating system. It is available to download and install now.
